COVID-19 and the Flu

COVID-19 and the flu are both highly-contagious respiratory illnesses, but they’re caused by different viruses.  It is possible to have both at the same time.



COVID-19 and flu share some of the same symptoms including:

  • fever or feeling feverish/having chills
  • cough
  • shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • fatigue (tiredness)
  • sore throat
  • runny or stuffy nose
  • muscle pain or body aches
  • headache
  • vomiting or diarrhea (usually more common in kids)
